Rev. Stewart Hewlett was born and educated in Montreal. He graduated from Sir George Williams University and United Theological College of McGill and was ordained in 1961. His earlier charges were:
St John’s United, Bonnyville, Alberta (1961—1964)
Red Deer, Alberta (1964-1968)
Manotick United, Manotick (1968-1978)
St Paul’s United, Edmonton (1978-1981)
Southminster United, Ottawa (1981-1996)
He came to Merivale/Fallowfield after retirement and was named Emeritus Minister in 2003.
We recently celebrated the 50th anniversary of his ordination September 2011.
Judy has recently retired from teaching and enjoys doing many different crafts including drawing and making her own cards. Once computers came on the scene, she took several courses and has become fairly efficient with several computer programs. Judy was born in City View and has always lived in Ottawa.
When she and John were married in 1973, they joined Fallowfield United Church.
We are faith communities built on volunteer work. Everything from musical solos to taking out the garbage happens because congregation members offer their time, their skills, their ability to lift a table, to the church they love. Thank you for all that you do!
If you are interested in volunteering, see the weekly announcements, attend a council meeting, or get in touch to find out about opportunities.
