WEDDINGS & RECEPTIONS

• The Church – up to 100 guests

• The Hall – up to 80 guests for a seated meal

The church and hall at Merivale United are both airy and inviting. They can be rented separately or together. Use of the gardens for pictures or entertaining is included with rental of the church or hall.

* Events are currently limited to 100 people.

WEDDING CEREMONIES

Merivale welcomes all couples, of all orientations and faith backgrounds, seeking a loving partnership in marriage. Couples may be married through the United Church by our minister, Rev. Sandra Yule, or simply rent the space and bring in the officiant of your choice.

HALL RECEPTIONS

Hall rental includes use of our main upstairs hall and downstairs foyer, and free parking on-site for you and your guests.

You may bring in the caterer of your choice, and we are happy to offer suggestions for local vendors.

There will be no catering service at this time.

THE GARDENS

When you rent the church or hall you will also have use of our beautiful gardens at front and back of the church for your pictures and hosting your guests.

COMMUNITY EVENT RENTALS

Merivale offers several spaces suitable for courses, meetings, performances, concerts, lectures, study groups, yoga, meditation, dance and more. Rooms are available for ongoing groups or one-time events.

Available Spaces

• The Main Hall (30 x 40 feet)

• The Lower Hall (15 x 40 feet) and foyer

• The Church Sanctuary

• The Church Basement Hall

Equipment

• 6’ rectangular tables, cushioned chairs

• Card tables, cushioned chairs

• Cushioned pew seating, lectern with microphone, organ and piano

• Meeting table and chairs, sofa and chairs

ACCESSIBILITY

We are continuously working to improve the accessibility of our two heritage designated buildings. At Merivale a stair track is available to take those with limited mobility up the flight of stairs into the church. There are stairs into the hall.

The pulpit is equipped with a microphone to improve sound transmission.
